If Christians believe that Jesus was truly the son of God and a revelation of God's character and intentions for us, why can't these right-wing busybodies just practice his continuous examples of love, inclusion, and reaching out to those who were marginalized by that particular society at that time. I believe that the arrogance of deciding what God likes and dislikes, based on one's own personal insecurities and views, is tremendously harmful to humanity as well as the beautiful earth we should be protecting. From all I have learned from religious teachings of all faiths, if God does preside over any sort of 'judgment day' for us, she or he will look much more kindly on acts of love and charity than on acts of self-righteous greed and vengeance.
